Best Buy offers pre-sell on Motorola Droid starting now

If you haven’t been sleeping because you have been worried that you won’t be able to get a Motorola Droid on the November 6th launch date, well we have good news for you. Best Buy has started a pre-sell for the Android powered device. Furthermore, the big Box retailer will take the $100 mail-in rebate off the price immediately which is less money that you have to lay out when buying the handset. If counting sheep ain’t your thing, just run over to Best Buy, put your $199.99 down, and rest easy knowing that your Motorola Droid is making its’ way to you. Best Buy Mobile President Shawn Score said he is happy adding the Droid to his company’s line-up. The executive said, “Bringing the DROID to Best Buy Mobile expands our already unmatched assortment of smartphones allowing customers to compare high-end devices like the iPhone 3GS, HTC Hero and DROID all under one roof. The fact that customers can purchase the phone first at Best Buy through the pre-sell is an added bonus.”

I just put my pre-order in at a Best Buy in a suburb of Chicago. They took a $50.00 deposit that will be refunded as a gift card when the phone arrives, that was it, no need for the $199.00 today. The Best Buy sales person said I was the first one that he knew of at that store to get the pre-sale, which was at 6:00 PM and I thought there would have been more already… seeing that video of the Droid and the new navigation capability put me over the edge.

Now having to wait till the 6th is going to be tough, then I can retire my wimpy HTC Touch that I do not even have a data plan for anymore because I thought it was pretty useless trying to browse the web…. can’t wait to see if Droid really Does…
